Building Canadian Defence Capability, One Field Test at a Time

TerraSense Analytics is proud to be recognized, for the third consecutive year, as one of Canadian Defence Review's Top 100 Defence Companies in Canada. Three years in a row feels less like recognition of where we are and more like accountability for where we're going.

Over the past year, we at Terrasense have been steadfast with our core technology principle: systems must perform where it matters most, in unpredictable, demanding environments. And true to this, we have performed multiple field tests to push our technology to the limits. In November 2025, we deployed a small team of engineers to Australia to work closely with BAE Systems Australia for the inaugural in-field testing, demonstration, and system integration of the Automatic Target Detection, Tracking and Classification System (ATTCS). In addition, Terrasense participated in ISC testing in Gagetown, NASP events in Gaspé, and live experimentation at EDGE 23 and PC-C4. The results were positive and met with most discussions focused not on what the system could do at the time, but on what the next horizons will be.

Beyond our own work, this recognition reflects something bigger about the Canadian defence ecosystem. Canada has the ingredients: strong universities, early-stage companies, a growing pool of technical talent, and a policy environment that is slowly opening more doors for small and mid-sized companies to move from testing into real-world deployment. What's needed now is scale. More access, more partnerships, more willingness to bring domestic capability into major programs before it's too late to matter.

To Canadian Defence Review, thank you for continuing to shine a light on the companies doing the detailed, unglamorous work of building sovereign capability. And to the other organizations recognized this year, congratulations, it's genuinely good company to be in.
