About our ideal candidate


TerraSense hires people who are adaptable, creative, multidisciplinary, self-directed, and can bring uniqueness to the table. Our company is small, so team spirit needs to come naturally. We appreciate experience with technical writing and cybersecurity knowledge, and good networking skills are always handy.


In addition to being aligned with and upholding our values, we need our teammates to be ethically and morally comfortable with working in the defence industry and, of course, be able to keep a secret. This is a military-oriented field, after all. On that note, we also require security clearance (i.e. criminal record and credit checks), having Canadian citizenship or minimum 10 years as a permanent resident, with no longer than six months away from Canada, and relocating to Kelowna, British Columbia.

We’ve set up shop in what might be the best place on earth: Kelowna, BC, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the syilx/Okanagan people.


As the gateway to the Okanagan Valley, this beautiful city that we call home has plenty to offer—from world-renowned vineyards and epic skiing to sandy beaches and beyond—and we want to share it all with you.


We know that having anyone move away for work is a huge ask, so we cover relocation fees. We also provide six weeks’ paid vacation per year (that includes a week off during the winter holidays) so that you can visit family and friends back home more often.

Being a tech-company employee may sound daunting, but rest assured that TerraSense isn’t your average organization. No, we don’t work our employees to the bone. That’s just not us.


And while we've only been around since 2017, we’re fully funded, meaning you get the security and financial stability of a well-established company but with the excitement of a startup. (This is a major plus, because we all know how difficult it is to get funding in the startup world.)

We prioritize work-life balance and offer flexible office hours. No-meeting Fridays, meeting hours from 10 am to 2 pm on other weekdays, weekly social activities and brain fuel in the form of local beverages and coffee also contribute to making working for a company like ours more positive and stimulating.


While much of the world has moved to remote work, we do require you to come into the office from time to time because of data sensitivity. But fear not: we've never been in the office full-time, even before COVID. We’re also flexible about onboarding, letting any new employee complete theirs remotely.
